Gardener's Folly celebrated its 10th year in business on July 2, 2009. From our humble beginnings in the garage of the former Birdland Hardware store to our new 3,000 square foot store in a former art gallery, Gardener's Folly has evolved from a small store carrying garden art to a lifestyle style store for resort living.

When we left Chicago in 1998 to live in our favorite vacation destination, Pentwater, Michigan, we never imagined opening a retail business.  But we saw a niche that wasn't filled and from the beginning, we were dedicated to finding the unique, the affordable and the one-of-a-kind item that makes a statement in a lake side cottage or that works equally well in a city home.

And our customers understood the concept.  We have been blessed with customer loyalty and we have been challenged to constantly define our mission.  We continue to rely on our customers to help us refine our merchandise mix. This has led us to take a leap of faith when on buying tours. From the simple to the sublime, we have had the good fortune to find fabulous artisians and vendors who provide Gardener's Folly and its customers with an exciting merchandise mix.

We are thrilled with our new store and our customer's response. We invite you to come up to the lake and enjoy a relaxed, stylish way of living where family and friends gather and sunsets help us find our "Aha" moment. It's at the lake that we're reminded of what's important in our lives.
